Physical Plant employees are responsible for the repair, maintenance, and cleaning of all SIU facilities and grounds as well as the operation and maintenance of campus utilities.

The objective is to maintain and operate the academic facilities at a level that will ensure the full life expectancy of the facilities and to provide financial supervision and business management to maximize service while minimizing cost to the students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University.
